REALITY BYTES AS UNIVERSAL STUDIOS THEME PARKS AND AMERICA ONLINE TEAM FOR EXCLUSIVE TRAILER LAUNCH OF WORLD’S FIRST REALITY-TV-TURN-THEME PARK ATTRACTION “FEAR FACTOR LIVE”

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- April 8, 2005 -- Universal Studios theme parks will team with America Online for an exclusive launch of the "Fear Factor Live" trailer, a video preview of the first theme park attraction to be spun off from a reality television program on Monday, April 11 on AOL® Television, accessible through aol.com/television and AOL® Keyword: Television, beginning at 6 AM (ET).

The debut of the trailer reel marks the public's first look at visuals for the highly anticipated attraction, scheduled to open at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando in June 2005.

The nearly three-minute theatrical-style trailer features behind-the-scenes footage from Fear Factor show tapings, never-before-seen visuals of the new attraction and interviews with Fear Factor's Executive Producers Matt Kunitz and David Hurwitz and Universal Studios Creative Designers on their plans in turning the popular extreme stunt show into a theme park experience.

"It's our version of a movie trailer, offering first-look details and great behind-the-scenes commentary," said Scott Trowbridge, vice president creative and design, Universal Parks and Resorts. "As an authentic TV and movie studio, we wanted to create a fun, entertaining trailer for our attraction just as our film counterparts do on behalf of their new movie releases. It was a natural fit to debut the first visuals of a reality TV-inspired attraction with a leading online destination for reality TV fans."

"Reality television is extremely popular among AOL's community of television fans, so we know that this audience will especially enjoy getting a first look at the exciting new 'Fear Factor' attraction," said Patricia Karpas, Vice President and General Manager, AOL Television. Inspired by the phenomenally popular television series and marking the first time a blockbuster reality show will be transformed into a theme park attraction, "Fear Factor Live" will invite park guests to conquer their fears and test their physical and mental limits as they participate in a progression of extreme stunts before a live audience.

With the attraction opening at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando, Universal Parks & Resorts continues to build upon the merger of NBC and Universal Studios, integrating the entertainment content of the new company.
